Their name pays homage to Johnny Cash\u2019s classic song \u201cWreck of the Old 97,\u201d a true idol for lead singer <strong>Rhett Miller<\/strong>. Their true breakthrough came in 1999 with <strong>Fight Songs<\/strong>.
