The Dallas Observer Music Awards were established in 1998. Initially, it began as a project within the music section of the Dallas Observer<\/em> newspaper, led by then\u2013music editor Clay McNear. Remy Reilly earned titles for \u201cBest Pop Vocalist\u201d and \u201cBest Indo-African Artist.\u201d Gracen Wynn won both \u201cBest Pop Song\u201d and \u201cBest Pop Artist.\u201d The group Cure for Paranoia received awards for \u201cSong of the Year\u201d and \u201cBest Hip-Hop Group,\u201d while Revelers Hall Band was recognized for \u201cBest Live Music Performance\u201d and \u201cBest Traditional Jazz Ensemble.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Jessica Waffles from KXT earned three honors \u2014 \u201cBest Concert Photographer,\u201d \u201cBest Radio Host,\u201d and \u201cBest Radio Show.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Jeffrey Liles, who dedicated it to Bill of Bill\u2019s Records<\/em>, a veteran and pillar of the Dallas music scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
