Biography of Jensen Ackles

Born on March 1, 1978, in Dallas, Texas, Ackles originally dreamed of becoming a doctor. After graduating from Berkner High School, he planned to study sports medicine at Texas Tech University. His father, Alan Roger Ackles—a seasoned radio host who dabbled in short-film acting—encouraged him to pursue Hollywood instead. Drawn to the craft, Jensen took the advice and enrolled in acting classes in 1995.
By 1996, talent scouts spotted him and invited him to move to Los Angeles. That year, he scored guest roles on shows like Wishbone: Dog Fantasy, Sweet Valley High and Mr. Rhodes, laying the groundwork for his breakout.
Not Just Dean Winchester: Leading Roles

Ackles rocketed to fame as the witty hunter Dean Winchester on Supernatural. His blend of humor and grit made him one of TV’s most recognizable faces.
Even as he devoted years to Supernatural, Ackles showcased his range elsewhere. In 2005, he led the horror-drama Soul Eater, acting alongside his father. Two years later, he earned rave reviews as Presley in the indie feature Ten Inch Hero, with critics calling his turn one of the film’s standout performances.
In 2009, he appeared as Tom Henniger in the cult slasher My Bloody Valentine and portrayed Soldier in the hit series The Boys. Most recently, in 2023 and 2024, he lent his voice to Batman in the animated blockbuster Justice League: Warworld.
Family Man and Devoted Dad

Despite his global fame, Ackles has always kept family at the forefront. In 2007, he met actress Danielle Harris. After three years of dating, they celebrated a lavish wedding complete with an orchestra and a stunning gown.
In 2013, Danielle stepped back from her acting career to focus on their growing family. That same year, she gave birth to their daughter, Justice Jay, making only occasional screen appearances thereafter.
In 2016, the couple welcomed twins: son Zeppelin Bram and daughter Arrow Rhodes. Ackles frequently thanks his wife in interviews, insisting that their family’s well-being always comes first.
